In a memorable week for Summit University, Offa, the institution has celebrated a double milestone that cements its place as a rising star in Nigeria’s higher education scene. The University has obtained full accreditation for its Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Accounting program from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), less than 48 hours after receiving a game-changing ₦100 million endowment from the Isiaq Family Foundation (IFF) to enhance accounting education.

After confirming that the University complied with all evaluation requirements, the Council of the Institute formally authorised this historic accreditation, which comes after the Students’ Affairs Committee’s proposal. ICAN’s next accreditation inspection is planned for the academic year 2027–2028. The University’s dedication to academic and professional excellence is proudly validated by the announcement. It confirms that the Accounting curriculum at Summit University has not only surpassed national benchmarks but is ready to create graduates who are fully qualified for global relevance in the dynamic world of finance and accounting.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Musa Aibinu, lauded the timing and significance of the dual developments. “This is a sign of heavenly alignment. The fact that ICAN recognised Summit University so quickly following the Isiaq Family Foundation’s exceptional contribution makes it very evident that the university is headed for greatness. These consecutive successes strengthen our commitment to providing top-notch instruction and developing the next generation of accounting leaders.
At the 11th Triennial Conference of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, which took place in Abeokuta earlier this week, the Isiaq Family Foundation, under the direction of Alhaji Kola Isiaq-Balogun, announced an endowment of ₦100 million with the goal of revolutionising accounting education at Summit University.
Annual student scholarships, a Professorial Chair in Accounting, a specialised research grant, the creation of an Accounting Technology Laboratory (AccTech Lab), and prizes for the top graduating students are all part of the endowment. In order to facilitate continuous digital access for education, plans were also established for internet connectivity and solar-powered energy. The university’s founders, the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, have praised the two breakthroughs as evidence of their commitment to both academic and moral excellence. They demonstrate the strength of cooperation between philanthropic vision and institutional ambition in addition to the growing confidence in the University’s academic path. Supported by a substantial endowment and strengthened by national accreditation, Summit University is thrilled to be in this momentous position, poised to influence accounting education in Nigeria and beyond. The University places a high priority on acquiring the seven transformative talents that characterise its distinctive educational approach as part of its unwavering commitment to creating graduates who are fit for the community and industry.
These include expertise in ICT and Artificial Intelligence, thorough understanding of Financial Literacy, and the cultivation of Acadopreneurship—an unique blend of academic achievement and entrepreneurial thinking. Additionally, students are equipped with information about Clean and Renewable Energy, taught to be responsible Global Citizens, and given a foundation in history, tradition, and storytelling techniques. In addition to producing competent professionals, Summit University is developing visionary leaders for both national and international development through an all-encompassing strategy.
