The National Open University of Nigeria NOUN formally accepted 25,342 students into its different academic programs during its 28th matriculation ceremony, which took place in Abuja. Of these, 18,698 enrolled in undergraduate courses, and 6,564 in postgraduate studies, including PhD degrees.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Olufemi Peters spoke to the incoming students and encouraged them to embrace digital learning, academic integrity, and resilience. He also emphasised that the university’s Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system provides flexible, high-quality education that is on par with conventional universities.

He emphasised how NOUN alumni had achieved success in a variety of professions and urged students to make the most of digital technologies and learning resources in order to thrive in school and the workplace.
Peters emphasised that students’ classrooms now stretch beyond actual boundaries to wherever learning is feasible, reinforcing the university’s dedication to developing well-rounded, creative people.
