To improve safety in public schools throughout the state, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the hiring and deployment of 17,600 security guards.
His spokeswoman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced the news in a statement on Monday. Each of Kano’s 44 local government districts will get 400 security guards as part of the plan.

The government claims that insecurity in and around educational institutions is a major danger to learning settings, which is why this action was taken.
At a formal event in Kano, Governor Yusuf said, “We are dedicated to protecting the lives of our children and their teachers.” “Education must not be impeded by fear and insecurity.”
Prior to deployment, the new security staff will get training. Their responsibilities will include keeping an eye on entry points, spotting questionable activity, and, if required, liaising with reputable security organisations.
