Ny’Quasia Brown, a remarkable 16-year-old student, has reached an amazing academic milestone by being accepted into 90 universities across the United States and obtaining over $1.5 million in scholarships.
Because of an expedited program that allowed her to gain high school credits early and finish her courses in just three years, Brown graduated from White Oak High School in 2019, one year ahead of schedule.
For two years, she worked closely with her school counsellors to carefully apply for scholarships and college admissions since she was determined to pay for her education. Her efforts were rewarded, as she received $1,543,500 in cash from a number of sources, including:

- The Scholarship for People Helping People (State Employees Credit Union)
- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter
- White Oak High School
- University of North Carolina
Brown finally decided to pursue her undergraduate studies at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) after receiving several offers.
“I’ve always desired to enrol at an HBCU. I started my study by concentrating on universities that had high national rankings because I knew I could get a top-notch education there,” she said.
After changing her major to criminal justice, Brown originally intended to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She graduated from NCCU in 2023. In the future, she hopes to work as a federal defence lawyer dedicated to enacting significant social change.
Young kids everywhere can find inspiration in her story, which demonstrates how perseverance, hard effort, and smart preparation can lead to amazing chances.
