After being questioned for not showing up for his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) despite being in an accident, a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has voiced his dissatisfaction.
The corps member responded to a conversation regarding NYSC experiences by sharing a post on X (previously Twitter) that detailed his experience.

He clarified that he informed his Local Government Inspector (LGI) and PPA about his condition following the accident, as required by law. At first, they accepted his predicament, but he was subsequently asked why he wasn’t there.
His message generated internet debates, with many individuals expressing similar thoughts and experiences on NYSC’s treatment of corps members.
- @madee_laine: “Can you imagine? I’m sorry you had to go through that. Hope you’re feeling better now?”
- @cee_4ourr: “They’ll just tell you to go to the NHIS hospital they assigned you.”
- @MzTaiwoO: “This wouldn’t have happened in Lagos during my time. All you had to do was inform your PPA and LG office. If you didn’t, of course, they’d serve you a query.”
Many have called for a more humane approach to NYSC’s handling of corps members’ medical emergencies in light of the tragedy.
