A Nigerian becomes the highest-paid Robotics Engineer Ever.

After striking a historic agreement with Apple Inc., one of the biggest tech companies in the world, 34-year-old Nigerian inventor Silas Adekunle became the highest-paid robotics engineer in the world.

Designing, building, and operating robots is the main focus of robotics engineering, a field that combines mechanical, electrical, computer, and software engineering. Silas’s outstanding achievements to this subject have brought him international recognition.

Silas, who was born in Nigeria and moved to the UK when he was twelve years old, followed his love of technology and graduated with first-class honours in robotics. He later earned an honorary doctorate in technology from the University of the West of England in Bristol.

After completing his studies, Silas co-founded Reach Robotics, a business in the UK that integrated STEM education with augmented reality. The business became well-known throughout the world for MekaMon, a sophisticated four-legged robot that used a special combination of augmented reality and robotics to bring video games to life.

By successfully raising $12 million, Silas was able to grow Reach Robotics to employ 65 people. As one of the highest-paid specialists in the robotics sector, he gained notoriety in 2018 for creating the first gaming robot in history thanks to his collaboration with Apple to market MekaMon in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Silas made progress even after Reach robots shut down in 2019 because of difficulties in the consumer robots business. The Reach Robotics brand was resurrected in 2022 under new management, and Silas turned his attention to improving robotics education in Africa. He aims to increase access to AI and robotics innovation and motivate the upcoming generation of African tech leaders through his firm, Awarri.

In 2020, Silas co-founded and rose to the position of CEO at R.I., a business that specialises in cloud-based solutions for remote control of industrial systems, robots, and Internet of Things devices.

Due to his innovative work, Silas Adekunle has received international attention, being listed in Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Europe: Technology” and the Financial Times’ “Top 100 Minority Ethnic Leaders in Technology.”
