A University student has plunged to her death from the fourth floor of a tower block.
Tragically, the 20-year-old Wolverhampton, West Midlands resident was declared deceased at the scene. Around six in the morning this morning, Digs Chambers 51, a dorm near the University of Wolverhampton, received a call from emergency services.
The unidentified woman was discovered the road, critically injured. Police are looking into the circumstances surrounding the 40-foot fall, but they have ruled out foul play. A spokesman for West Midlands Police confirmed: “A woman has died after falling from a window at the student residence in Wolverhampton’s Lichfield Street.”It was sadly determined that the 20-year-old was dead at the scene. “At this difficult time, our thoughts are with the woman’s family, friends, and the larger student community. We have been collaborating with the University of Wolverhampton staff.”The death will be forwarded to the coroner and is not being investigated further. “I woke up and saw the police outside and sheeting over someone in the car park,” a resident of the block told the Express and Star. I know who it was, and she was quite young—in her twenties. It’s terrible. The woman was identified as a student by Professor Julia Clarke, the University of Wolverhampton’s deputy vice-chancellor, according to the Express and Star. She continued, saying, “We are offering support to our students and staff during this extremely sad time. The University community’s thoughts are with the student’s family and friends.”
