The administration of Abia State University, or ABSU, suspends employees for allegedly abusing Student.
Under the capable direction of Vice-chancellor Distinguished Professor Onyemachi M. Ogbulu, the University Management of Abia State University has ordered the immediate suspension of Mr Ugochukwu Onyemere, a member of the security staff, for a period of three (3) months due to a flagrant act of indiscipline and neglect of duty.
The suspension is in accordance with the University’s conditions of service, pending further investigation into his involvement in a case of the brutalization of a student, Miss Dominic Chizurum, on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Hostel H. Room 22, which is inconsistent with the level of responsibility expected of security personnel, according to the letter signed by the Registrar, Dr Acho Elendu.
In the meantime, the Vice-Chancellor has also given the student, Miss Dominic Chizurum, a call to express the administration’s condolences and support, and to reassure faculty, staff, and students that they will always be safe and protected at the university.
