Honoring a Tradition of Judicial Excellence and Diplomatic Magnificence

• Doctor of Laws (LL.D) Honoris Causa will be awarded to Justice Lawal Uwais, the former Chief Justice of Nigeria. Judge Uwais is renowned for his outstanding judicial career and important contributions to the Nigerian legal profession. He was the Chief Justice of Nigeria from 1995 to 2006.
• Wazirin Fika, the late Adamu Fika, was once ABU’s esteemed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council. He made a substantial contribution to public administration and governance over his illustrious career serving in a variety of roles within the Nigerian government.
• The former representative of the African Union to the United States, Ambassador Chihombori-Quao, is set to receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa. Her outstanding guidance and support of social justice, African unification, and economic empowerment are particularly noted.
