Academic Calendar at the FCT College of Education Zuba for 2023/2024 and 2024/2025

The academic calendar for the end of the 2023–2024 academic year and the start of the 2024–2025 academic year has been released by FCT College of Education, Zuba. The calendar helps students stay informed and ready for the next semesters by outlining significant dates and events.

Two Semester 2023–2024: Important Dates and Events

Restart and Enrollment

  • May 20–May 31, 2024: Students return and start registering. This is for a two-week period.
  • From June 3rd to June 7th, 2024: Students can register after the deadline for a week.

The Moderation of Academic Activities and Outcomes

  • Moderation of first-semester results occurs throughout a week, from June 3rd to June 7th, 2024.
  • The lectures run from June 10, 2024, to August 30, 2024, spanning 13 weeks.

Examining Results and Student Activities

  • June 13, 2024–14, 2024: The College Academic Development Committee (ADC) reviews first-semester results over two days.
  • The Academic Board will review first-semester results in a one-day session on July 1, 2024.
  • Moderation of second-semester questions and marking schemes will take place during a two-week period, from August 5 to August 16, 2024.
  • August 19, 2024 – August 23, 2024: A weeklong celebration of Student’s Week and SUG elections.

Exams and Intervals

  • Two weeks will pass between September 9, 2024, and September 27, 2024, when the second semester exams are held.
  • After the tests, there will be a three-week holiday from September 27, 2024, to October 18, 2024.
  • Six weeks will pass between September 30, 2024, and November 8, 2024, when the second semester examinations are marked.
  • Second-semester results will be moderated over the course of one week, from November 11 to November 15, 2024.
  • Over the course of a week, from November 18, 2024, to November 22, 2024, departmental and school ADC results are uploaded.
  • November 25, 2024November 29, 2024: College ADC takes a week to review the results.
  • On December 5, 2024, the Academic Board convenes for a single day to assess the outcomes.

First Semester 2024–2025: Crucial Events and Schedules

Restart and Enrollment

  • From October 21, 2024, to November 8, 2024: Students have two weeks to finish their registration and resume.
  • November 11–November 15, 2024: There is a one-week window for late enrollment.

Talks and Unique Occurrences

  • There are 13 weeks between November 11, 2024, and February 7, 2025, when lectures are held.
  • Between January 6 and January 10, 2025, question papers and grading schemes are turned in throughout the course of a week.
  • NCE I students’ orientation and matriculation take place over the course of one week, from January 13–17, 2025.

The Examination and Intervals

  • Exams for the first semester are held over a period of three weeks, from February 10 to February 28, 2025.
  • Exams are held from February 28 to March 21, 2025, with a three-week vacation in between.
  • Marking of first-semester test scripts takes place over two weeks, from March 10–21, 2025.
  • During the course of one week, from March 24 to 28, 2025, the first semester results are moderated.
  • Over the course of one week, from March 31 to April 4, 2025, departmental and school ADC results are uploaded.
  • During a week, from April 7 to April 11, 2025, the College ADC evaluates the results.
  • The results are discussed by the Academic Board during a one-day meeting on April 15, 2025.
