Accreditation of Ten New Courses at Osun Poly

The Registrar of the Institution, Mr Abiodun Oloyede, stated that the 10 new courses were housed in the faculties of engineering, science, information and communication technology, and management studies.

“Regarding the Resources Inspection exercise carried out by the Board at your institution from 7th-10th February 2024, I am directed to inform you that the Board has approved your institution to offer the following programs with effect from the 2023/2024 academic session,” read a statement signed by Arc Ngbede Ogoh, Director of Polytechnic Programs, on behalf of Professor Idris Bugaje, the Executive Secretary of the Board.

Agricultural Technology, Geological Technology, Health Information Management, Public Administration, Water Resources Engineering Technology, and Mechatronics Engineering Technology are among the National Diploma (ND) levels of approved new courses.

The following other courses have also been approved at the Higher National Diploma (HND) Levels: Agricultural and Bio-Enviromental Engineering Technology (Farm Power and Machinery Option), Agricultural and Bio-Enviromental Engineering Technology (Soil and Water Option), Agricultural and Bio-Enviromental Engineering Technology (Post-Harvest Option) and Science Laboratory Technology (Physics with Electronics Option).

According to the statement, the Osun State Polytechnic plans to start offering courses in the academic year 2023–2024.

Reacting to the approval of the courses, the institution’s Rector, Mr Kehinde Alabi, pledged to keep pushing for the Polytechnic to become the best in Nigeria’s community of polytechnics. He dedicated the accreditation’s success to Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the Executive Governor of the State. He reaffirmed his pledge to make sure polytechnic graduates are well-versed in science and technology and can support themselves once they graduate.

The Rector declared “I dedicate this success to the executive Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke who gave me the mandate to contribute to raising the bars of Science and Technology in the Institution, he is a man of vision and I am determined to support his vision to uplift technology in the State through the polytechnic education. “With the new courses, diplomates of the Polytechnic would be self-employed, reliant, and employers of labour”, the Rector exclaimed.

The Rector expressed gratitude to the Honorable Diran Ayanbeku-led Polytechnic Governing Council for their unwavering support in seeing to it that the new courses’ accreditation was successful.
