Acting Registrar Appointed by Achievers University.

Mr. Adebayo Olagunju has been appointed as the Acting Registrar of Achievers University, Owo, with effect from February 17, 2025. The previous Registrar, Rev. Canon Bayode Oladimeji, has completed his term and begun his end-of-tenure leave following a successful five-year tenure.

In a statement released on February 11, 2025, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Omolola Irinoye revealed the appointment, stating that Mr. Olagunju was instructed by the University Council to serve as Acting Registrar until a substantive Registrar was appointed.

Mr. Olagunju has a wealth of expertise to his new position. He joined Achievers University on May 2, 2008, as a Senior Assistant Registrar (Media)/Public Relations Officer (PRO), precisely one month after the university’s academic operations began. Since starting work at the university, he has held a number of important roles, such as Principal Assistant Registrar/Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senior Assistant Registrar/College Secretary of the College of Social and Management Sciences (COSMAS). In October 2020, he was elevated to the position of Deputy Registrar after being assigned to the University’s main Registry in 2019.

He was assigned to the Nigerian Air Force and taught at the Air Force Secondary School in Ikeja, Lagos, during his time in the Federal Civil Service before entering the university. Later, he became Head of the Copy Desk at Tell Communications Limited, the company that publishes Tell magazine.

Mr. Olagunju has a Master of Science in Mass Communication (Public Relations) from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State (2011–2013), a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos (1992–1993), and a Bachelor of Arts (Education) in Language Arts (English) from the University of Ilorin (1987–1991). The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) counts him as an Associate.

The University community commends Rev. Canon Bayode Oladimeji for his devoted service and contributions to the expansion and advancement of Achievers University throughout his term, and congratulates Mr. Olagunju on his appointment.
