Adekunle Gold Addresses Men After FUNAAB Student Killing

Adekunle Gold, a Nigerian musician, has used his social media presence to communicate with men on the unfortunate demise of Idowu Christianah, a student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

According to previous reports from Gistreel, Idowu Christianah disappeared on August 19, 2024, after her kidnappers used her WhatsApp account to communicate with her parents. They sent pictures of her being held captive and demanded a ransom of ₦1.5 million. Despite the parents’ fervent discussions, in which the kidnappers acquiesced to a reduced amount of ₦350,000, Christianah was not freed and tragically met her death.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Adeleye Ayomide, a student at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), was the perpetrator behind the kidnapping and murder of Christianah. He subsequently buried her on his land. Further evidence suggests that Ayomide may have played a role in the dubious deaths of his former romantic partner in 2018 and his sibling in 2020.

In response to the news, Adekunle Gold used his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to convey a compelling message to guys. The individual expressed in written form:

“Gentlemen, genuine strength lies not in remaining silent, but in confronting and opposing your friends who engage in the mistreatment, sexual assault, or belittlement of women.” Let us reinvent the concept of masculinity by ensuring that we hold one another responsible for our actions and behaviors. People are using the hashtag #JusticeforChristianah to advocate for justice on her behalf. Observe the post written by him below:
