After a five-week Ramadan break, the Bauchi State Ministry of Education has announced that classes will resume on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Jalaludeen Usman, the ministry’s public relations officer, reminded parents and guardians in a statement issued Thursday that day and boarding schools will resume operations for the remainder of the second term.

Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam, the Commissioner for Education, stressed the Bauchi State Government’s dedication to education under Governor Bala Mohammed’s direction, the statement said. He also emphasised the ministry’s intention to start JAMB CBT instruction for state-sponsored students in order to make sure they are ready for their tests.
In order to prevent academic disturbances, the ministry cautioned against late resuming and urged parents and guardians to make sure their children return on time.
In accordance with the academic calendar for 2024–2025, schools were first closed on March 1, 2025. Religious institutions and civil society organisations, however, criticised the prolonged break, voicing worries about how it would affect the educational system.
