Against All Odds, a Nigerian Graduate Earns a Double First Class.

Aderonke Gboroye has become one of Nigeria’s most inspirational young legal professionals in a stunning display of grit, perseverance, and dedication. He achieved a Double First Class, which is an extraordinary accomplishment in the nation’s demanding legal education system.

In Cotonou, Republic of Benin, Aderonke enrolled at The West African Union University (WAUU) to earn her undergraduate legal degree (LL.B.), marking the humble beginning of her career. However, she was saddened when the Nigerian Law School decided that it would no longer accept law graduates from Benin, upending her academic path.

In an emotional LinkedIn post that has subsequently received a lot of attention, she wrote, “I was confused and uncertain.” “Depression set in, but I was determined to persevere.”

In 2018, refusing to let her dream die, Aderonke transferred to Achievers University in Owo, Nigeria. She was designated the College of Law’s Best Graduating Student and graduated with First Class Honours, despite having to start over and repeat classes she had already finished.

She continued to be resilient after it. In one of the most difficult professional exams in the nation, the Nigerian Law School Bar Final Exams, Aderonke recently earned another First Class.

“In retrospect, every tear, restless night, and prayer was worthwhile,” she thought. “I’m incredibly thankful to God, my family, my lecturers, and my friends for their support.”

Aderonke, who is now awaiting her formal call to the Nigerian Bar, says she is open to any opportunity that will enable her to advance, develop, and have a significant influence in the legal industry.

Her narrative, From Setbacks to Double First Class: A Journey of Resilience, is a potent reminder that failure is frequently the start of a stronger recovery rather than its conclusion.

Aderonke Gboroye stands out in Nigeria’s ongoing celebration of young talents who are redefining success not only for her academic prowess but also for her steadfast spirit and message of hope.
