Upon graduation, Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo State will award three certificates. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Timothy Adebayo called this endeavour “unprecedented in the history of tertiary education in Nigeria” and contains a degree, Mind Education, and Entrepreneurship Training certificate.
Mind Education experts from China and Korea were at ACU to implement a project when the news was made on Monday, according to PUNCH Online.
Prof. Adebayo explained that the Mind Education project originated after his 2023 International Youth Fellowship (IYF) trip to South Korea. Other Vice-Chancellors and heads of tertiary institutions from Nigeria attended the program, where we saw how mind education combats social vices in Korean and other Asian youngsters.
ACU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mind Educators to offer the program to its students after seeing the results.
“We have since started training, and students will receive international certificates upon graduation from the university,” Prof. Adebayo said.
Robert Udo, the project coordinator, explained the program’s goals.
ACU’s Mind Education program promotes human growth and good thinking.
“ACU recently held a Mind Education Camp, using games, dance, and lectures. Other activities to help students develop a strong, positive mindset,” Udo said.
ACU will incorporate the Mind Education course into its curriculum, requiring students to take exams at the conclusion.
International volunteers from China and South Korea assist the program.
Udo said these university students are “eager to make a positive impact on other youths’ lives while also learning from their Nigerian hosts”.
