With great pleasure, Lagos State University (LASU) announces that it is accepting applications for its esteemed Certificate and Diploma Programs for the 2023/2024 academic year from adequately qualified individuals in collaboration with LASU Consult Limited. This program is in line with the university’s founding edict’s purpose to provide high-quality education to the large population of Lagos State. By providing students with the information and abilities needed to succeed in both the public and commercial sectors, LASU hopes to provide accessibility to education for those who are willing to further their knowledge.

Programs Available and Entrance Requirements

1. Arabic and Islamic Studies Diploma

Requirements for Admission:

A candidate must fulfil one of the requirements below in order to be eligible to pursue a diploma in Arabic and Islamic studies:

• A Merit pass in Standard Ilmiyyah schools’ Thanawiyyah Certificate
• A passing grade of credit in Standard ‘Ilmiyyah schools’ I’dadiyyah Certificate
• Credit in three topics, Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, at the GCE/WASC O’ Level
• Applicants must be 35 years of age or older, have a good background in Arabic and Islamic Studies, have demonstrated their Walimat Khatim u’lQuran or hold at least an Ibtida’iyyah Certificate, and have performed very well on the qualifying test.
• Candidates with more credentials in Western education will be given preference.

Program Length: Two Academic Sessions

2. Christian Religious Studies Diploma

Requirements for Admission:

In order to enroll in the Christian Religious Studies Diploma program, candidates need to have:

• A passing grade in three courses, including Christian Religious Studies, in the GCE/WASCCE O’Level Examination
• A passing grade in the Teacher Grade II Exam, together with a certificate or diploma in Christian Religious Studies from a theological institution
• Candidates who are mature (35 years of age or older) and have suitable experience may be eligible for exemptions.

Program Length: Two Academic Sessions
Application Cost: N20,000

3. Professional Diploma in Planning and Management for Transport Operations

Requirements for Admission:

This program is intended for people who have:

• A passing grade in any three O-Level subjects OR
• A Transportation Advanced Certificate
• Five years of experience working in the transportation sector

Six months of programming (weekends only)
Application Cost: N20,000

Transport Operations Planning and Management Professional Certificate

Requirements for Admission:

The best applicants will be literate and have prior experience operating transportation equipment.

Program Length: Four Weeks
Application Cost: N15,000

4. External Program: Social Work and Administration Certificate

Requirements for Admission:

Applicants for this program need to have:

• A GCE O’ level or Senior Secondary School Certificate with a minimum of four credit passes, including English Language
• Officers with OND/NCE/B.Sc. Certificates or comparable credentials from a variety of sectors, including the Ministry of Social Welfare, Religious Organizations, Media, Local Government Services, and Security Agencies, are also welcome to apply.

Duration of Program: Two Semesters
Application Cost: N15,000

Candidates must take the following actions in order to apply:

• Go to the official LASU website.
• Go to the “students” page and choose “Diploma/Sandwich.”
• To create an Application Number, click “Step 1.”
• Enter your basic biographical information and choose the appropriate program from the Programme Dropdown.
• Once an application number has been generated, move on to “Step 2” to pay the application cost.
• To proceed with the application procedure, go back to the “Step 3” page.
• Fill out your application form completely, then print it off.

Closing Date: Six weeks from the date of this notice is when applications must be submitted.

Notice: It is recommended that applicants only send money to the designated LASU CONSULT LIMITED Account. The applicant may be at a disadvantage if payments are made via alternative methods.

Please be aware that admission to Direct-Entry degree programs is subject to space availability and is determined by merit.
