
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, made the thrilling announcement that an astounding 119 students will graduate with First Class honours.
Kuta revealed that 5,816 students are scheduled to graduate in the 2023–2024 academic year during a pre-convocation meeting on Tuesday at the university. 4,955 undergraduates, 632 master’s degree holders, 105 postgraduate diploma holders, and 124 doctorate holders make up this category.
“The breakdown is as follows: 119 First Class, 1,431 Second Class Upper, 2,341 Second Class Lower, 972 Third Class, and 92 Pass degrees,” Kuta said when outlining the undergraduate degree categorisation.
He underlined the university’s dedication to improving education through e-learning platforms and underlined that all of its programs have been fully accredited.
During his speech, Kuta revealed a number of advancements at the university, including as the granting of study grants and the funding of 112 employees to attend conferences and seminars.
In addition, he announced that 74 academic members had been promoted to professor and associate professor, and that 87 other staff members had been promoted to various levels. The Vice Chancellor addressed the persistent issues surrounding student housing, voicing worry about the growing challenges in providing suitable housing as a result of the annual increase in student admissions.
He encouraged people, organisations, and groups to work with the university using several partnership models, such as build-operate-transfer or build-and-operate plans.
