The Los Angeles Film School awarded Sy’rai Smith, daughter of Brandy Norwood, a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business with top honours.
Sy’rai graduated with Summa Cum Laude distinction at 22—an academic honour for U.S. students with superior academic performance.

Brandy announced her daughter’s milestone on Instagram with emotion:
“Sy’rai Iman Smith, Summa Cum Laude Graduate of 2025 — Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Business,” she wrote.
She praised Sy’rai’s passion and effort as she balanced school and music.
So proud of you, girl! Watching your journey has been great. I adore your passion and perseverance, and all I ask is that you keep shining and dreaming big. “Love, Mama,” she said.
Sy’rai posted graduation images on Instagram to commemorate her achievement. Brandy celebrated again in the comments:
“I’m so proud of you and the woman you’re becoming! You’re the brightest light I’ve seen, and I’m excited for your next chapter. Congratulations #SyraiClassOf2025 #YouDidIt.”
Sy’rai has achieved academic success before. She received an associate degree from the same school in 2023. Like her mother, Sy’rai is making progress in the music profession while pursuing her schooling.
