Brilliant Nigerian Engineer Earns Best Student Award, First Class Honours

Halimat Abubakar, a Nigerian scholar, has graduated with first-class honors in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, achieving a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.51. Her academic excellence earned her recognition as the best graduating student in her department.

Halimat celebrated her milestone on LinkedIn, sharing her excitement and gratitude. She highlighted her induction into two esteemed professional bodies: the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) as a Graduate Member (GMNSE) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) as a Pupil Engineer. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “This induction marks an important step in my engineering journey. I look forward to contributing to the profession and continuing to grow in this dynamic field.”

Undeterred, she worked consistently to improve her grades, ending her program with the same CGPA she started with—a testament to her resilience and focus. “Setbacks are not the end; they are setups for comebacks. Stay determined and never lose sight of your vision,” she advised.
