The academic calendar for the 2023/2024 session at Bayero University Kano (BUK) has been released by the university management. The calendar includes key dates for both the first and second semesters, as well as activities related to examinations and semester breaks.

First Semester:

Lectures Start: Monday, 15th July 2024
Lectures End: Saturday, 5th October 2024
Mid-Semester Break: Monday, 26th to Saturday, 30th August 2024
Examinations: Monday, 7th October to Saturday, 9th November 2024

Second Semester:

Lectures Start: Monday, 25th November 2024
Lectures End: Saturday, 22nd February 2025
Mid-Semester Break: Monday, 6th to Saturday, 11th January 2025
Examinations: Monday, 24th February to Saturday, 22nd March 2025
End of Session Break: Monday, 24th March to Saturday, 3rd May 2025
Resumption for 2024/2025 Session: Monday, 5th May 2025

Examination Misconduct Reports Consideration: Monday, 2nd to Friday, 6th December 2024
Marking and Submission of Raw Marks: Monday, 18th November to Saturday, 7th December 2024
Departmental and Faculty Results Consideration: Monday, 18th November 2024 to Saturday, 4th January 2025
SBC on First Semester Results: Monday, 13th to Friday, 17th January 2025
Special Senate on First Semester Results: Wednesday, 19th February 2025

Additional Changes:

Migration of the Department of Economics from the Faculty of Social Sciences to the Faculty of Management Sciences.
Migration of the Department of Library & Information Sciences from the Faculty of Education to the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Renaming of the Faculty of Management Sciences to the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences.
