After showing off her opulent off-campus dorm, which she compared to a hotel, a female student at Nile University in Abuja has drawn attention from social media users.
The student, known as @ugoatealot, provided a quick overview of the brightly lighted hostel’s interior in a TikTok video that went viral. Before entering her tastefully decorated room, the camera shows her entering the premises, playing darts and sipping water from a water station.
Her room had a modern yet comfortable atmosphere thanks to a small refrigerator, air conditioner, and a well-organised bed frame.

Viewers’ reactions to the film, which has had over 1.3 million views, were not quite uniform. While some praised the hostel’s opulence, others drew attention to minor elements in her room.
In contrast to private lodgings close to federal colleges, Jean-Pierre, a user, highlighted that the hostel is off-campus and more costly than the university’s official dorms.
Yourloyalhouseboy, another user, pointed out a prayer mat, and m a r x i t i m z alluded to seeing something odd next to the window. @ravelorde999, meanwhile, praised the student’s way of life and claimed that she motivates him to put in more effort.
The ad emphasises the rising popularity of high-end off-campus dorms, which provide students with a more comfortable and independent living environment—at a cost. Some choose private lodgings that offer greater amenities and solitude, while others choose on-campus dorms because they are more affordable.
Many people are now interested in the availability and pricing of such lodgings for Nigerian university students, since social media is ablaze with talk about this hotel-style student home.
