Chrisland University is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Oyedunni Sola Arulogun as the new Vice-Chancellor, officially assuming duties following a formal handover ceremony on November 1, 2024.
The event took place at the campus, attended by the University’s Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, High Chief Dr. Winifred Awosika, OON.
During the handover, Chancellor Awosika expressed heartfelt gratitude, commending outgoing Vice-Chancellor Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola for her dedication and leadership over her seven-year tenure. She also congratulated Professor Arulogun on her new role, extending a warm welcome and support.
Professor Babalola shared her appreciation for the Chancellor’s steadfast support throughout her service and pledged ongoing assistance to Professor Arulogun’s administration.
Professor Arulogun conveyed her gratitude for the opportunity, reaffirming her commitment to build on the foundation of excellence set by her predecessor. With an extensive background in health education, public health, and academic leadership, she has held key roles, including Acting Dean at the University of Ibadan and Director of its Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Her career also includes service as the Secretary-General of the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Olatunde Farombi, present at the ceremony, voiced his support for the new administration, emphasizing their shared commitment to academic and institutional excellence. University Chaplain Reverend Juwon Onasanya offered prayers, blessing both the outgoing and incoming Vice-Chancellors.
Professor Arulogun’s appointment, endorsed by Chrisland University’s Governing Council under Distinguished Professor Ayodeji Olukoju, FNAL, marks the beginning of a new chapter focused on advancing academic excellence and innovation. The university community looks forward to her impactful leadership as she guides Chrisland University toward greater achievements.
