Corps Members Are Not Allowed to Post Camp Activities on Social Media by NYSC

Brig. Gen. Yusha’u Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has prohibited corps members completing their one-year required national service from posting activities from orientation camps on social media.

While addressing the corps members of the 2024 Batch A Stream 1 at the NYSC Ogun State Permanent Orientation Camp, Sagamu, on Sunday, the NYSC DG announced the ban, stating that the moments that the corps members recorded during their three weeks of orientation exercises on camp could only be used by them.

Ahmed also cautioned the corps members against making what he called needless travels, especially unapproved ones.

He asked them to be more concerned about their safety.

This came after SaharaReporters published a story about how the corps members had bemoaned their inadequate nutrition.

Despite the Nigerian government increasing their meal stipend, several corps members complained about the inadequate food in the camp, according to a report published by SaharaReporters on Thursday.

The state coordinator and other authorities, according to the incensed corps members, reportedly forced them to eat horrible meals, forcing the majority of them to spend their money on food.

Following the narrative published in SaharaReporters, an insider informed the publication that Chinyere, the State Coordinator, had gathered the phone numbers of every corps member and formed a committee consisting of around twenty-five corps members to refute the allegation.

Whatever is captured for your personal use should not be shared on social media. You are not required to share camp activities there.

“You should also take personal security seriously and avoid taking unnecessary or unauthorized trips.”

To become wealth creators, he counselled the corps members to enrol in the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Program.
