
Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director General, has reiterated his dedication to working with partners to enable Corps members to work for themselves. He underlined that his administration is committed to lowering unemployment among young Nigerian graduates, as outlined in its five-point policy thrust.
Brigadier General Ahmed said this at a grant presentation ceremony where Mrs. Love Idoko Uloko, the founder of the Activate Success International Foundation, gave business awards to five Corps members. The NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, served as the venue.
The grantees are:
- Enwemeka Blessing (FC/24A/5897)
- Abdumalik Ibrahim (FC/24A/6157)
- Akande Olaitan Sunday (FC/24B/3856)
- Blessing Ijeoma Omachi (FC/24B/5031)
- Emmanuel Ali (FC/24B/0603)
The final two awardees received N500,000 apiece, while the top three received N750,000 each, according to Caroline Embu, Acting Director of Information and Public Relations. Their company concepts cover a wide range of industries, such as horticulture, food and confections, and fashion.
Mrs. Love Idoko Uloko emphasised in her speech the thorough and open selection procedure that determined the recipients. Noting that the program represents an investment in their aspirations and capabilities, she commended their inventiveness, fortitude, and vision.
53 Corps members have benefited from our assistance thus far. In order to help Corps members find their skills, follow their gifts, and create meaningful lives, the Activate Success International Foundation has been working with NYSC for more than seven years, she stated.
Mrs. Uloko underlined that by developing a generation of independent leaders capable of making significant contributions to society, the initiative seeks to generate a cascade of innovation and growth.
