Deeper Life Church Bans Students from Using Perfumes and Deodorants, Saying They’re for Dead People
According to internet users, schools owned and connected with the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DLCM) have reportedly prohibited pupils from wearing deodorants. The reason given is that people believe deodorants promote sexual immorality and consider them appropriate only for deceased individuals.
These accusations emerged after a query from an internet user on the justification for a policy implemented by secondary schools owned by or associated with Deeper Life. The policy prohibits pupils from using deodorant due to its alleged connection to sexual immorality. What is the cognitive process behind this?
Claims made by former students of Deeper Life High School (DLHS) have been verified
A former student of Deeper Life High School, Lagos campus, said that the principal made a statement implying that deodorant and fragrances were only meant for deceased individuals. I had to clandestinely transport mine.
Another individual said, “I verified this information with my younger sister, a student at DLHS, and she confirmed that the school still does not permit deodorants.” It is very irrational.
The proposal has faced extensive criticism from internet users, who have raised concerns about its usefulness and logical reasoning. A speaker opined that advising adolescents not to smell pleasant during puberty is sinful.
Every aspect of them consistently exhibits abnormality and peculiarity. Did these individuals not prohibit watching television in their residences and refer to it as ‘Apoti Esu’?
A former member of the church explained the church’s position: “Certain indoctrinated pastors taught in most of their sermons that perfume is intended for deceased individuals.”
