Nigeria’s Abuja According to Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), corps members nationwide would start earning a new allowance of ₦77,000 per month in March 2025.
Nafiu informed corps members during an interactive session at the Wuse and Garki NYSC Zonal Offices in Abuja that the Federal Government is dedicated to their welfare and well-being. He underlined that the NYSC program is still committed to helping corpsmen during their year of service.

You will begin receiving ₦77,000 as your monthly stipend in March. I promise that NYSC maintains correct records and that your payments will be processed on time. “Your service is valued by the country and the scheme,” Nafiu said.
The Director General encouraged corps members to continue being composed, committed, and disciplined in their work while praising their selfless devotion. Additionally, he praised the NYSC scheme’s visionaries and urged all parties involved to keep supporting its goals.
Nafiu also restated the NYSC’s goal of fostering in its members a sense of patriotism, discipline, leadership, and teamwork so they may make a significant contribution to the advancement of the country.
Since the increase represents a major boost in their financial support, the announcement has excited corps members across the country. This action is in line with increasing demands for higher compensation for recent graduates taking part in the mandated one-year national service program.
Corps members will benefit from more financial stability as a result of this change, which will enable them to more effectively manage their service year and support national community development initiatives.
