As you may remember, the University Management cancelled the exams taken by graduating students from the Faculty of Arts (Department of Mass Communication, English, and History and International Studies) on January 29, 2025, for breaking the policy against excessive celebration or jubilation on campus. ELS 411, MAC 414, and HIS 416 were among the courses that were impacted, but they weren’t the only ones.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sunday Olowo Samuel, on behalf of the University Management, has kindly granted clemency to all affected students in response to the regret shown by the impacted final-year students and the requests of several stakeholders.
Additionally, the Acting Vice-Chancellor has ordered the reinstatement of the impacted exams’ status. The procedures must be started right away by all involved officials.
Please be aware that the University is still dedicated to upholding pertinent conduct standards and Senate regulations. The Acting Vice-Chancellor hopes that both new and returning students will follow the university’s rules to the letter and behave well.
