Four Federal University Lokoja Lecturers Dismiss

The Governing Council of Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State, has approved the dismissal of four lecturers found guilty of examination misconduct and sexual harassment, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining ethical standards.

The council finalized this decision during its second meeting on Thursday, following a comprehensive investigation into allegations against the lecturers last year.

Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, who chairs the council, lauded the university management for its adherence to due process throughout the investigation. He emphasized the institution’s zero-tolerance policy for unethical behavior, stating, “The council will not condone any form of misconduct within the university.” He further urged the management to expedite ongoing investigations, including a widely publicized case in the Faculty of Science.

The council reiterated its commitment to fostering a safe academic environment, cautioning staff and lecturers against any form of student harassment.

The university encouraged students to report any instances of abuse or harassment, assuring them that decisive action would be taken to uphold integrity and respect within the academic community.
