A resolute young man from Ghana named Obed Asamoah Boateng has won over many hearts with his motivational tale of perseverance, diligence, and academic achievement. Obed persevered in the face of financial difficulties and earned a first-class honours degree from the University of Ghana.
Obed’s path started in senior high school at Agogo State College, where he stayed committed to his goals in spite of attending a lesser-known Grade C institution. He took on leadership positions like PENSA’s General Secretary and Boys’ Studies Prefect, juggling school and service, and ultimately achieved remarkable WASSCE scores of 5As, 2Bs, and a C.

After high school, Obed worked as a mobile money (MoMo) vendor to save money for his future because he had little support and little chance of being able to attend college. After his salary was insufficient, he followed a friend’s advise and moved to Accra, where he found a more secure position at a biscuit factory. Obed persevered through the long hours and night shifts despite the tough nature of the work because he was committed to changing his story.
After being accepted to the University of Ghana, the difficulties continued. Obed took on other tasks to help support himself, such as selling tissue paper, working as a waitress in East Legon, and working at his father’s mechanic business on the weekends. He never lost sight of his objective in spite of these obstacles.
Obed turned his hardships into a potent witness by graduating with first-class honours through unwavering focus and determination. Since then, many people dealing with same challenges have found inspiration in his tale, which was shared via a TikTok video that went viral.
