The ceremony was opened by Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, who congratulated the new students and said they should feel fortunate to have been accepted to the university.
You should therefore count yourself fortunate to have been accepted into this University of Education, as many others applied but only a small number were accepted. So, please accept my heartfelt congratulations for securing this fantastic opportunity. “Oh,” he said.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor urged the incoming students to abstain from all social vices and practise good moral behaviour, as well as to follow all university rules and regulations as stated in the student handbook.
As a result, this university disapproves of all antisocial behaviour, particularly cheating on exams, wearing offensive clothing, using drugs, being gay or lesbian, cultist, stealing, etc. Both inside and outside the university, you are expected to act with integrity and responsibility.
“You are encouraged to avoid all forms of criminal activity and violence. To protect yourself, be aware of who you are interacting with and exercise caution. Maintain a 75% attendance rate, as it is a requirement for taking the test, and steer clear of exam fraud. Therefore, we strongly advise you to invest your time, effort, and dedication into reading your books in order to learn as quickly as possible and become an excellent teacher.
“We anticipate that you will graduate as educators who are knowledgeable about the best teaching practices and the principles of education, which will improve your skills and expertise in the field of education delivery.” Dr. Balarabe said.
As a reputable teacher training institution, Dr. Balarabe continued, “Students must be reminded from day one of the need to watch their moral and social behaviours.” This type of teacher training college aims to produce fully qualified professional teachers who will subsequently assist in preparing their own students to live honourable and acceptable lives in their communities, in addition to helping them learn and pass exams. For this reason, NCE is given for both excellent behaviour and exemplary conduct in addition to passing exams.
Additionally, he advised them to respect the customs and norms of their host communities and establish and preserve friendly relationships with their members. Barr. Maryam Halidu, the Oath Commissioner, administered the matriculation oath to the students.
The matriculation committee members and everyone else who attended were thanked by the acting vice chancellor.
Principal officers of the university, deans of schools, heads of departments, directors, heads of units, employees, and parents of the matriculating students were present at the matriculation ceremony.
