Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) honored its outstanding employees at the 2024 End of Year Dinner and Awards Night held in Jos. Dr. Pokop Buptwada, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), emphasized that the awards aimed to recognize excellence, dedication, and commitment, fostering a proactive and efficient workforce.
The awards were divided into two categories: Merit Awards, based on performance, and Long Service Awards, given to employees who had served for 32 years or more. A merit committee, chaired by Prof. Aboy Madaki, oversaw the selection process. Dr. Buptwada commended the staff for their hard work and urged them to continue striving for excellence.
Dr. Cletus Shurkuk, Plateau State Commissioner for Health, praised the initiative, calling it a valuable motivation for improved service delivery. Prof. Tanko Ishaya, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, also lauded JUTH’s management for recognizing its staff, noting that such efforts enhance staff morale and productivity.
