Kwara State University (KWASU) has responded to the protest staged by students of its Study Centre at the Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), calling it unwarranted and driven by mischief-makers.
The protest centered on the change of the examination venue, which CAILS management claimed they had not been informed about.
This means that the students enrolled in these programs are fully under KWASU’s administration, and the university does not need permission from CAILS for decisions regarding its students.
KWASU centralized the examination venue for all sandwich degree students at the KWASU Conference Centre in Ilorin to uphold the integrity and standardization of the evaluation process.
During an orientation on October 2, 2024, they informed students about this decision, contradicting CAILS management’s claim that students were notified only three days before the examination.
KWASU emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards in all its processes and reaffirmed that the examination venue will remain unchanged. The university urged students to comply with the centralized arrangements.
