At the 22nd Annual National Mathematics Competition (ANMC), a historic occasion honouring academic achievement in mathematics, over 50 outstanding Nigerian students received scholarships and cash prizes totalling N200 million.
The competition, which was organised by the Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) in collaboration with the National Mathematical Centre (NMC), highlighted pupils in Junior Secondary School and Primary 5 and 6 who showed exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Shedrack Udeh Jr. of Diamond Special School in Imo State won the gold medal among the elementary school champions. Ifeanyi Einstein from Pleroma International School in Rivers State (bronze) and Olasehinde Darasimi from Genius Tonic Heights School in Ondo (silver) behind him.
Jamalaldeen Tahir of Air Force Secondary School in Lagos was the best performance in the junior secondary division. Eghosa James of Beacon of Success School in Edo State won the bronze medal, while Kaetochukwu Uzoewulu of Hillrange Secondary School in Enugu got second.
The awardees were given partial or full tuition scholarships in addition to cash awards between N100,000 and N500,000. Along with educational supplies like tablets, printers, and desktop computers, their schools and teachers were also recognised with monetary awards ranging from N100,000 to N400,000.
NTIC Managing Director Fevzullah Bilgin stressed the organization’s commitment to developing talent in STEM subjects during his remarks at the occasion.
“Our goal is to spark a love for mathematics in students from an early age. One of Nigeria’s biggest maths competitions, ANMC embodies our goal of promoting problem-solving abilities essential for overcoming obstacles in the real world’, Bilgin stated. He mentioned that the NTIC-ANMC full scholarship program, which is entirely supported by the institution, presently benefits close to 90 students.
