The MTN Scholarship for Science and Technology (MTN STS)

Universities, polytechnics, and education colleges fall under this category. Three hundred students are chosen annually for this prize, which is awarded until the recipient graduates as long as they maintain the necessary GPA. MTN STS Eligibility Requirements
- Study Level: Available to both current 300-level students and those who have finished their second-semester 200-level exams and are moving up to the 300-level.
- Average of cumulative grades (CGPA):
- In order to be admitted to public universities and education colleges, students must have a CGPA of at least 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second-class upper credit).
- In order to be admitted into the HND program, students at public polytechnics need to have obtained admission to their OND program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (upper credit).
- Students pursuing direct entry must have completed their OND program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (upper credit) and be admitted into a public university’s 300 level/3rd year.
The MTN Blind Students Scholarship (MTN SBS)
In order to support blind students attending Nigerian public tertiary institutions, the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS) was established in 2012. Blind students in grades 200 and 300 who are enrolled in any subject are eligible for this grant. By 2024, there will be 100 blind students receiving scholarships, up from the previous 60, and the annual scholarship sum will grow from N200,000 to N300,000.
Qualifications for MTN SBS
- Study Level: Blind students in grades 200 and 300 are welcome to apply. Only students in their 300 level are eligible to apply for the five-year blind law program.
- Average of cumulative grades (CGPA):
- Universities and schools of education requiring blind students to have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
- Blind students enrolled at public polytechnics are required to have obtained admission to the HND program and to have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 from their OND program.
The Top 10 Scholarships for UTME
The Top 10 UTME Scholarship has been given to the top 10 applicants in the UTME, as declared by JAMB, since 2020. As long as the candidates fulfil the necessary academic requirements, they are awarded scholarships starting at the 100 level and continuing through graduation. Additionally, the yearly scholarship sum for this category has been raised to N300,000 in 2024 from N200,000.
Qualifications for the Top 10 UTME Scholarship
This scholarship is given to the selected candidates regardless of their choice of public or private tertiary institution in Nigeria or topic of study.
