Nigerian Man Graduates with First-Class Biotechnology Degree After 3 JAMB Failures

Temitope Alabi, a determined Nigerian, earned a first-class degree in Biotechnology (CGPA 4.55) from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) after overcoming three unsuccessful attempts at the JAMB exam. In a LinkedIn post, Temitope detailed his journey from struggling with JAMB to achieving academic excellence, including scoring a perfect 5.0 GPA twice during his studies.

Initially aiming only to pass, Temitope’s outlook shifted after receiving advice from senior colleagues and friends. A schoolmate encouraged him to aim for consistently high GPAs, inspiring him to adopt discipline, resilience, and confidence. He maintained a GPA above 4.72 in his final years, attributing his success to setting clear goals and seeking guidance.

Outside academics, Temitope served as Class Governor for six years, honing his leadership skills and balancing an active social life. Reflecting on his achievements, he encouraged students to recognize their strengths, set goals, collaborate with others, and stay positive. Expressing gratitude for the support he received, he looked forward to future opportunities, stating, “I’m excited about the next phase and what lies ahead.”
