NCE Graduates to Get NYSC-Equivalent Program from FG
The Ministry of Youth Development aims to provide Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) graduates national service chances like university graduates via a scheme comparable to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Mr. Olawande Wisdom, Minister of State for Youth Development, announced this effort during the BEMORE OYO 2024 Summer Bootcamp in Ibadan, highlighting the ministry’s partnership with the Ministry of Education to overhaul youth training.
The proposed concept would enable NCE graduates serve in their states, providing significant experience without moving. Wisdom stressed the need to revive civic training programs like the Boys’ Brigade and Girl Guides to combat social vices and teach young Nigerians discipline.
Wisdom lauded BEMORE Empowered females Foundation founder Dr. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu for promoting STEM education for females during the occasion. Dr. Anyanwu-Akeredolu stressed that BEMORE is independent of government financing and develops STEM female leaders.
Odu’a Investments CEO Abdulrahman Yinusa also urged attendees to actively participate in the program and praised the organizers for their commitment to uplifting young women via technological education.
