OAU SUG announcement to students on transportation expenses on campus
Subsequent to a series of discussions with the leaders of the transport unions in Town Gboro, we are glad to announce the temporarily agreed transit fares for students. These prices have been established to guarantee equity and prevent exploitation by drivers. We encourage students to acquaint themselves with these revised costs to prevent overcharging and to report any driver or bike operator who does not adhere to the new rates.
These prices are provisional, considering the prevailing economic conditions. Union and transport executives have agreed to reassemble and reassess the rate if fuel prices decline in the future.
We highly recommend that all students comply rigorously with the official pricing standards established by the Students’ Union. Students must pay only the specified amounts and report any infractions. In instances of aggressive conduct by offenders, students should refrain from confrontation. Instead, document the Cartrec number or car registration number and swiftly notify the Union of the event.
We safeguard student interests and create a tranquil, equitable transportation system on our campus.
