Onazo Daniso receives a bachelor’s degree in medicine.

Onazo Daniso, a 29- year- old determined nurse from Lusikisiki, South Africa, by graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBChB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal’. Overcoming financial hardship, rejection, and the pressures of frontline healthcare work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

She enrolled in a nursing program at the University of the Free State after being turned down for medical school even though she met the qualifications. She persevered through financial difficulties and ultimately earned her degree in 2018.

Onazo was a dedicated leader who served in the Student Representative Council and graduated with honors despite tremendous academic, emotional, and financial strain.Now a medical doctor, she hopes her story inspires others.
