Today, Monday, February 10, 2025, the simultaneous induction ceremony was held at Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, Main Campus, Samaru Zaria.
There were 22 new hires in the Medical Laboratory Science Department and 11 in the Radiography Department.
Prof. Kabiru Bala, vice-chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, praised the entrants for their academic achievements and called the event significant.
Speaking on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Administration, Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the two programs, which began modestly in 2017, had ambitious goals.
He was pleased with the two Departments’ expansion, saying they are now fully accredited and have grown from four to more than thirty employees.
In his introductory remarks, Prof. Abdulmumini Hassan Rafindadi, the event’s chairman, thanked the university administration for providing the faculty with facilities and gracious assistance.
The Registrar, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), Prof. Tosan Erhabor, represented by Dr. Akinwale Akinlabi, inducted Medical Laboratory Science students, while the Registrar, Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN), Prof. Mark Chukwudi Okeji, represented by Dr. Ejimofor Malachy Chukwudi, inducted graduates of Radiography.
Dr. Abdurrahman Ahmad El-Fulaty and Mohammed Yusuf Mohammed, the heads of the medical laboratory science and radiography departments, respectively, complimented the university for its excellence vision, which sped up the development of both departments.
The top graduating students in radiography, Abubakar Usman Gimba, and medical laboratory science, Sulaiman Ahmad Halima, received honours.
Principal officers and a few members of the university’s management staff attended the occasion.
