Under the Direction of Engineer Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin, FEDPOFFA: A Tour Of Development

A Tour of Development Led by Engineer Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin FNSE, FEDPOFFA ( 1)

Oluwasegun Ojo’s Travelogue (Abuja)

Following my first visit to my former master, the Federal Polytechnic Offa, since graduating, I have come to rethink my unfavourable perception of the catchphrase “Nigeria go better.” When someone says, “Nigeria is getting better,” my first reaction is usually negative because I feel that corrupt politicians have caused irreparable harm to the nation. Through their self-aggrandizement goal, those in positions of power have severely hindered the advancement of the nation.

However, the amount of progress and change I saw on my most recent visit to the Federal Polytechnic Offa, under the direction of Engineer Dr. Kadiri Kamoru, gave me optimism that Nigeria still has capable leaders who are enthusiastic about the development.

Without sugarcoating things, the current Federal Polytechnic Offa Rector is the true change and transformation architect; he is goal-oriented and imaginative to take the school from where it is to the next level.

Change starts with a step; it doesn’t take a century to bring about change. The Polytechnic has seen rapid transition and expansion over the last five years in less than a year.

The first page of the tiny campus was my initial point of contact. At first, I mistakenly believed that I was at a different school because of the attractive green and white paint job on the trees outside the little campus and the freshly painted surrounding fence. I told myself that my alma mater’s entrance now resembles a campus. The trees now have an artistic purpose—the polytechnic periphery’s aesthetic value—thanks to the Rector. Because of the Polytechnic’s attractive appearance, those travelling from Osun State or Ilorin will only stare at the Polytechnic. Bravo to the Rector for creating the illusion of a campus.

I asked about the building next to the little campus entrance since I was curious, and I was told it was intended to be a bakery (FEDPOFFA Bread). At that same moment, I started to pray nonstop for the Rector to break the record and open a bakery after the Polytechnic had been around for 32 years. Beyond that, other polytechnics have expanded, but to whom was the 0 offensive? None at all; it’s a leadership decision.

During my journey, I saw that the Polytechnic microcampus’s long-abandoned internal roadways had been restored. The little campus where I completed my ND resemble1d a market square and a car garage; it is now a calm, aesthetically beautiful place. Modernized and positioned just off the main route are all of the connecting roads. It’s an amazing project.

As I continued, I spotted a freshly painted ICT building—a structure that had been almost falling apart for many years—as well as a Wi-Fi connection that appeared and was labelled “Fedpoffa Cloud.” I considered the Wi-Fi that I had not used in my four years here to be a miracle. Development is achievable, as I said before; one’s perspective is the only obstacle. Fedpoffa may finally experience the seemingly impossible—better internet access and Wi-Fi. God is very amazing.

When I went to get water since I was thirsty, I saw that the bottle was labelled “FEDPOFFA Water.” I first grinned and asked playfully whether they were importing the water someplace. The lady cheerfully replied, “No, aa ko omi wa lati ta oo, ise Rector yi ni oo,” which means that this Rector is the one who is doing the job, not us. God has answered the Federal Polytechnic Offa with a visionary leader, and I almost cried tears of delight.

It was unfortunate in the past that the Polytechnic, which was founded in 1992, was unable to generate ordinary, clear water. Bravo to the person who brought it to pass.

I was walking up and down to see the places where I had lectures in school when I came onto a market. I questioned what was going on and was told that all kinds of street markets had been moved to a certain place. Before, the Polytechnic neighbourhood was dotted with little stores and marketplaces that tarnished the establishment. The market is now arranged thanks to the innovative Rector. a sign that the organization is currently using a master plan.

I discovered a few days ago that the Polytechnic has been given the exclusive right to host the Nigeria Polytechnics Game in 2024, marking a first for the institution. An additional path towards the construction of the Polytechnic stadium and other athletic facilities. Although I haven’t seen the current Rector before, I shall refer to him as “Akorede, Kolawolu,” which, for those of you who don’t speak Yoruba, means “the architect of good fortunes.”

After being closed for a long time, the Mini campus is again open again. Bravo to the forward-thinking Rector.

In less than a year after taking office, Engineer Dr. Kadiri Kamoru, the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, has established several records within the institution’s history. a unique goal achiever and achiever. May God continue to richly reward his endeavours.
