UNIJOS notification on 2nd step of illegal admission condonation

This is to inform all University of Jos students, community members, and the public that the University has received a circular from Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announcing the start of the second phase of the condonement of candidates who were admitted into the University without first being processed through the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) despite having JAMB registration numbers. This comes after the Board condoned candidates without registration numbers in the first round. JAMB has ordered all concerned institutions to promptly report the following via CAPS mail:

  • All applicants with JAMB registration numbers and University records from 2017, but who did not use JAMB CAPS for official acceptance, must disclose their status.
  • All applicants with JAMB registration numbers from 2017 to 2020, involved in undisclosed illegal institutional admissions, missed in the institution’s previous statement, should now note the current notice
After 30 September 2024, no declarations will be accepted for these disclosures.

JAMB emphasises that only students listed in the declared submissions can register with the Board. Improper admissions granted before 2017 or from 2017 to 2020 will no longer receive recognition or approval unless disclosed within one month.

JAMB CAPS, as the only authorised admissions portal, addresses the misuse of previous admission periods. These measures ensure transparency and fairness in the admissions process.

Thus, all University of Jos students without JAMB Admission Letters and whose admission status falls within the aforementioned categories and timeframe should immediately log on to JAMB CAPS and submit their data for processing. Students whose courses changed from what they applied for must click ‘ACCEPT’ on JAMB CAPS to process their change.

Failure to comply risks losing studentship for all impacted students.
