UNIOSUN VC cautions new students about cultism, and emphasises academics.
Professor Clement Adebooye, the Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, admonished new students to refrain from social vices that may endanger their academic tenure at the matriculation ceremony for part-time degree students at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium on the Osogbo campus.
He emphasised the university’s stringent position against cultism and other sorts of misconduct that may tarnish its image. Professor Adebooye, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic, Research Innovation, and Partnerships, Professor Adetunji Kehinde, encouraged students to focus on their academic and professional goals.
He urged students to use the university’s new top-up program, which allows holders of Higher National Diplomas (HND) to get a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in under 24 months in diverse disciplines, including Accounting, Building, Sociology, and others.
Professor Adebooye said, “This initiative demonstrates our dedication to offering flexible and accessible education that addresses the changing demands of society while ensuring students remain focused on their studies.”
