Academic Credentials

Applicants are required to possess:

  • The West African School Certificate/GCE “O” Level, also known as the Senior Secondary School Certificate (NECO), requires the completion of five credits in a maximum of two sittings. These credits must encompass the subjects of English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Academic Credentials and Professional Background

In relation to the One-Year Program:

  • Proficient in the role of a Community Health Extension Worker.
  • Individuals should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health Science, Health Education, or Public Health, or a Higher National Diploma in Community Health.
  • Individuals are required to be officially registered with the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and hold a valid and up-to-date practising license.

In relation to the Two-Year Program:

  • Community Health Diploma.
  • Certificate in Community Health Extension Workers with a minimum of five years of professional experience.
  • Enrollment with CHPRBN and possession of a valid practising license are mandatory.

The Process of Selection

The admission process for these programs is highly difficult and will be based on the results of a written examination and an oral interview, which are set to take place on Monday, July 8th and Tuesday, July 9th, 2024.

It is imperative for candidates to ensure that they bring their authentic documents and driving licenses to the designated examination centre.

Method of Application

Application Commencement Date: Monday, February 5th, 2024

The application fee for accessing the OAUTHC School Account (Account Number: 0280190665014, GIFMIS code: 1000277586) is N10,000.00. This fee should be paid through the REMITA platform at any commercial bank.

Upon completion of the payment, it is necessary for you to present the proof of payment to the school in order to obtain the admission form.

Deadline for Submission

The School of Community Health, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, requires the submission of completed application forms, endorsed by sponsors, and accompanied by photocopies of relevant credentials by Friday, 28th June 2024.
