With 4.83 CGPA FUNAAB graduate receives Canada scholarships.

The Best graduating student from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta’s (FUNAAB) College of Engineering is Oladimeji Babatunde Azeez, a distinguished Nigerian scholar. With an outstanding cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.83, he graduated with a first-class engineering degree.

Oladimeji received a coveted scholarship to study biological engineering for a master’s degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada as a result of his outstanding academic performance.

He also received the prestigious 75th CGPS Recruitment Scholarship, which is granted to new graduate students who have exceptional research potential. His significant research during his National Service served as the foundation for this honour.

Oladimeji thanked his academic experience in a passionate LinkedIn post, emphasising how his undergraduate studies gave him a strong basis for fusing theoretical knowledge with real-world application. When he reflected on his accomplishment, he called it a “dream come true,” particularly in light of the financial difficulties he encountered in 2023, which at the time made going to graduate school appear impossible.

Receiving the Michael Taiwo Scholarship, which enabled him to sit for the GRE in 2024, was his big break. Oladimeji successfully obtained a chance to continue his studies and research by cold-emailing his future supervisor with perseverance and resolve.

Oladimeji credits his success to his family, friends, and mentors, notably Dr. Michael Taiwo, who have always been there for him. He showed hope and confidence in navigating this new chapter of his life, albeit acknowledging the obstacles that lie ahead.

He gave insightful counsel to prospective students: “Pay attention to each step while keeping the future in mind.” In this manner, you will not be afraid of the future. Echoing the advice of his mentor, Dr. Taiwo, he also underlined the value of bravery and resiliency.

Oladimeji is eager to carry out ground-breaking research and support international innovation as he starts this new era. Many people find inspiration in his narrative, which exemplifies the strength of willpower, fortitude, and academic achievement.
