Abdul-Lateef Adedamola earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with an exceptional 4.91 CGPA, the highest ever recorded in the history of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), making him the school’s finest graduating student.
He was named the university’s 2024 valedictorian and won numerous honours for his academic achievement, including a ₦2.5 million cash prize from his state’s governor.

Before moving on to TASUED, Adedamola started his academic career at the Kwara State College of Education, where he earned a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in computer science and mathematics.
He started out hoping for a first-class degree, but a lecturer’s suggestion encouraged him to aspire higher, which resulted in his record-breaking accomplishment.
He was named the best graduating student in his department and college in addition to becoming TASUED’s overall best graduate. It’s interesting to note that although he used to detest mathematics, he spent time learning it in order to pass the UTME.
His interest for teaching mathematics was sparked when he was offered computer science/mathematics instead of chemistry/computer science, which was his original goal for his NCE degree.
In addition to his studies, Adedamola took part in educational technology (EdTech) teacher training and worked side jobs to supplement his income. In his last year, he was also the coordinator of the Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN) TASUED’s College of Science and Information Technology (COSIT).
In the future, he intends to develop his EdTech brand, support programs for teacher preparation, and finish his master’s and doctoral degrees in seven years.
