Together, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) have developed a program aimed at educating the upcoming generation of policymakers. The nine-month Charles R. Wall Young African Policy Fellows Program fully immerses you in the realm of African biodiversity governance. The initiative is in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, “The Africa We Want,” which emphasizes how important biodiversity and the natural environment are to the sustainable development of the continent.

Fully Funded Fellowship: This program includes round-trip airfare to and from your place of origin, ground transportation to and from Nairobi sessions, and registration for a policymaking conference.
Housing and Payment: A stipend to cover internet expenses for virtual sessions is provided, in addition to lodging for workshops and conferences.
Professional Development: You’ll get individualized coaching and assistance to help you create strong policy briefs during the program.
Qualification Standards
A shown interest in biodiversity and related fields, characterized by a passion for biodiversity.
Citizens of African nations who live and work in Africa are eligible to apply for African nationality.
Between 20 to 35 years old, with at least a first university degree in a relevant subject, is the age and educational background. One may replace a degree with relevant experience.
Experience: two years of management or conservation experience in biodiversity.
Willingness to travel for conferences, assist negotiators, and attend the entire course constitutes a commitment.
Program Usability
