A strong young African man, Gabriel Nartey overcame hardship to graduate from the University of Ghana in Accra with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Banking and Finance.
From his first year to the middle of his third year, Gabriel worked night shifts as a security guard, determined to fulfil his aspirations. He used his earnings to cover his living expenses and educational costs. He stayed dedicated to his studies even though he attended classes and wrote tests while getting little sleep.
But when he lost his work, his problems worsened and he was unsure of what to do next. Unfazed, he managed to continue his education by finding another employment as a part-time instructor. He experienced homelessness after relocating to university, spending nights in a lecture hall with no way out.

Gabriel balanced employment and school while assuming a leadership role as the Organising Secretary of the Business House Junior Common Room in spite of these challenges. Even though there were times when he wanted to give up, he never wavered from his objective.
He was able to focus entirely on his studies towards the end of his academic career because to financial assistance from Axis Pensions Trust Ltd., the academic of Ghana Sponsorship Scheme, Christ Assembly Worldwide, and kindhearted people.
Gabriel considers his graduation with a Second Class Upper, which he earned against all obstacles, a significant accomplishment.
“I succeeded. Even though I didn’t meet my original goal, I will always be happy of my victory of graduating with a Second Class Upper,” he said. He gave the following advice to those who were struggling: “Keep going, have faith in God, and see past the difficulties.” Someone else will be inspired by your narrative, and you will experience your best days.
