Three elementary school students have won the 2024/2025 MoneyBee Competition, a national financial literacy campaign run by the Prudence Foundation and Junior Achievement Nigeria.
The winner was Akosile Opendoors from God’s Foundation School in Ondo State, while the runner-up was Abdulrahman Burhan from Sacson Nursery and Primary School in Lagos State. Third place went to Adedoyin Delight of M & N Model School in Akure, Ondo State.
The tournament was divided into two stages: MoneyBee, where students tested their knowledge in a rigorous online exam, and Cha-Ching, which exposed competitors to fundamental financial concepts.

The competition, which involved more than 25,000 students from 20 states, ended with a hybrid Grand Finale in which eight finalists fought for the ultimate prize.
Jennifer Okereke, the Prudence Foundation’s Head of Branding & Communications-Project, spoke at the occasion and emphasised the value of early financial education.
“Financial literacy is an essential life skill,” she said. We have equipped young minds with the knowledge necessary to make wise financial decisions with this program. We are building a generation that understands financial responsibility by teaching them how to work, save, spend, and donate.
Oluwatosin Oyetayo, the program officer, praised the participants for their knowledge and commitment, highlighting how the competition demonstrated the financial savvy and critical thinking abilities of young Nigerians.
Out of more than 25,000 competitors in 20 states, our eight finalists showed remarkable talent. This was a celebration of education, digital inclusiveness, and the promising future of financially literate young brains, not just a competition, Oyetayo stated.
Junior Achievement Nigeria’s Executive Director, Ugonna Achebe, emphasised the value of financial literacy at a young age.
Young Nigerians are guaranteed to develop a solid foundation in financial decision-making thanks to the MoneyBee Competition. Seeing students exhibit their expertise and self-assurance throughout the competition is encouraging.
Achebe said. Additionally, Achebe thanked the Prudence Foundation, Prudential Zenith Life Insurance, Channels TV, volunteers, school administrators, educators, and all other participants who helped make the project a success.
He continued, “By working together, we are promoting financial literacy and preparing young Nigerians for a financially responsible future.”
